November 10 2010. Written down in every United fan’s calender of one reason: Manchester City – Manchester United. This has become a huge derby over the the last years as City is now not only local rivals, but a top team as well. Last year there were some amazing wins over City, with winners in Fergie time in two games, Owen in the league and Rooney in the league cup.
Those games were played at Old Trafford. Today it’s on Cty’s home ground. There is a difference. I think United much rather would have played this game at home. With a large amount of injurys and players unavailable because of illness, we could have needed the support we get at The Theatre of Dreams.
Both teams must consider this as a very important match. It’s always important to beat your rivals, but when both are in the top of the table and desperatly in need of the points the match grows even bigger. It’s very important that United win today. Losing more points today would expand the gap between the Reds and Chelsea to five points, which is very hard to take back and it’s also important because of the fact that United now has a winning streak going and it would be a shame to brake it.
I don’t know anything about who is ill and who is match fit, buut I do know that out of those I think can play, some are very important.
- Park is one player that can decide the outcome of the game. He always works hard, making it hard for the opposition to pass the ball and he can also be a threat in front of goal, especially with the form and self confidence he probably has since the Wolves game.
- Berbatov is also important. With Rooney and Owen away he is the one who should lead United in the attack and his quality and experience could be a key.
- Scholes has also showed that he is important this far into the season and if he plays if will be important in the centre midfield controling United’s passing game.
I think the match will be a tough one, but I think United can win it. I can’t say they’re favorites, but I think they can handle City. My Tips: 2-3 with a late United winner.
